Trivex: safety, protection, visuion quality

- Comments (0)

The material, originally developed in USA for military field application, only in 2003 has been introduced in ophtalmic industry and called Trivex.

The material arises as patented chemical composition polyurethane based : the special formula is able to combine at its best the breaking resistance, UV protection, optical quality and lightness. These properties represent for the user safety, comfort, protection, and visual quality.

Which are the advantages?

- The extraordinary resistance to breaking and impact, comparable to those of polycarbonate, is confirmed by the severe standards ANSI Z87.1 /test ran with treatment included.

- Trivex offer the maximum ocular protection, thanks to fileter UV400

- The extraordinary  optical performances stem from the high  N° di Abbe (45)

- The lenses present a major sharpness with respect to the organic traditional material , thanks to index 1.53

- Its lightness is due to the low density value (1,11 g/cm3)

Particularly suitable for..

   - the ‘no-more young  :more and more exigent in lightness terms

   - The sportsmen : for the intrinsic characteristics of the lenses, lightness and resistance in case of impact.

   - The teenagers and children : the typical exhubernace of young teenagers in games activities both inside and outside, would need an ophtalmic solution that could guarantee  both a major resistance to breaking, and an adequate protection for eyes.

   - Rimless glasses bearers : the extraordinary characteristics of Trivex offer to rimless glasses bearers a major lightness, both due to denisity value and to non necessary shimming of lenses during working phase, a major resistance to breaking with respect to the traditional organic materials and reduction of "starring" typical of polycarbonate around holes, thanks to physical-chemical properties of the material.
